Aim

Picture
The aim is to work with a wide range of local stakeholders and residents in Oxford city and surrounding areas to co-create more harmonious environments for walking and cycling through the lens of the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Age-Friendly Environments.

Objectives

The Co-CAFE project has the following four objectives and key questions:

  1. To critically engage stakeholders (policy makers, practitioners and the public) in thinking about, and co-creating, age-friendly environments for walking and cycling as part of the broader WHO Age-friendly Cities agenda and address the question: What would an age friendly city for walking and cycling look like?

  2. To build knowledge and skills among public and private stakeholders engaged in planning, public health and service provision to support and promote age-friendly environments for walking and cycling and address the question: What are the capacities and challenges for stakeholders as delivery agents?

  3. To catalyse action through the co-creation of age-friendly walking and cycling environments with decision makers and users and address the question: How can age friendly walking and cycling be developed and embedded in policy and realised in practice?

  4. To document and disseminate, monitor and evaluate, outcomes of activities and to use this as a basis to propel age-friendly walking and cycling up the policy agenda and encourage action at city, and potentially, national level, and address the question: What are the most effective channels for engagement and dissemination that create the highest impact towards the realisation of age friendly environments for walking and cycling?
